Like so many songs that are “oldies” this song always paints such a wonderfully nostalgic picture of a time that came and seemingly went. Everything is (and this is obviously expected) different today than it was back then…
I remember my mother telling me stories of how a boy would have to call on a girl at college- via the housing resident and getting their permission. They had to be back by a certain time and there were so many other rules… wow have things changed. When I hear this song I always feel as if I’m transported back to that time… into another world when things were so different. Amazing what music can do!
